Learning Through Play

Language: Vocabulary – Use this activity to discuss the parts of cars. Add the body of the car, windows, wheels, mirrors, and more!

Physical: Fine Motor – Children will use a pincer grasp to hold on to the potatoes and carrots, which helps to strength their fingers for holding pencils and pens later in their school career.

School Readiness: Shapes – This is a great way to introduce children to the words circle and semi-circle. For young children, use parallel talk to narrate which shapes they choose ‘Oh, I see you are making the wheels with a big circle, and the windows with a semi-circle’. For older children, invite them to tell you how they made their car ‘Oh, how did you make that?’
